Programs
Mission of the People’s Parliament is to inspire and supports political and social changes that positively impact democracy and civil society.
People’s Parliament implements activities that are consistent with its mission statement and a set of defined long-term objectives of organizations' program areas of action.
Three program areas within which People's Parliament implements projects are:
- Local government and public administration program
- Cross-border cooperation program
- Youth program
Local government and public administration program objective is to direct and coordinate efforts of figures and actors of local community life towards the build-up of the functional, payable and transparent bodies of local government and public administration, introduce "good governance" and "best value" models into every-day work of public administration and local government bodies, mediate during the transfer of "know how" between domestic and foreign "organizations of the state", and help struggle against corruption in governmental bodies.
Cross-border cooperation program objective is to build sustainable system of ideas, experience and knowledge exchange among nations and countries in the region, contributing to regional stability and integration of Serbia in regional, international, and European cooperation mechanisms.
Youth program objective is to build knowledge and skills that help the young lead safe and creative life, teach and promote tolerance, antiracism and anti-discrimination, increase active participation of youth in the life of their local communities and socio-political processes, improve cooperation between organizations and associations that gather young people.
Each of the above stated program' objectives are being achieved through implementation of projects and initiatives that are based on volunteers' efforts and that consist of a different set of activities such as: protests, seminars, conferences, trainings, round tables, forums, different kinds of campaigns always involving citizens, printed and electronic material publishing and dissemination, media content development, public performances, opinion polls, etc.
These and other similar activities have been embodied in more than forty independently-realized projects and several dozens of partnership projects that were implemented from the organizations' founding day.
